Scope Design

Hometown Poetry is a part of the City of Bloomington’s neighborhood focus initiative and Creative Placemaking efforts. The City of Bloomington invited community members to submit poems to contribute to the project.

Our work comprised of design concepts and coordination of the fabrication and installation of four unique sculptural signs using the selected haiku-style poems for permanent outdoor displays in public areas in the City of Bloomington.

The structures consider location and setting, making the flower installations height-friendly to young visitors. The bright colors and varying shapes match the high-energy and vibrancy of the playground, making the sculptures seamlessly fit in and become a part of the “play” experience. The city is hoping to expand the experience to more of their 100+ parks!
