We take special pride in the signage work we completed for Apple Valley Liquor, a retail establishment that was recently awarded Green Globe status through the Green Building Initiative (GBI); see our Gallery for details. GBI is a nationally recognized building rating system that uses third party verification to provide sustainability assessment and certification. The Apple Valley project was the first building in the state of Minnesota to be awarded Green Globe status (qualifying for a “Two Green Globe” rating).
Visual Communications was chosen for the project based on our creative design and technical expertise, and our experience with sustainable materials. The signage master plan that we created incorporated a variety of high impact, low energy consumption solutions. Exterior signage was brightly illuminated using low voltage LED lighting; high efficiency LED lighting was also used to illuminate interior signage, drawing customers to the “Beer Cave” and “Tasting Bar” in bold, attention-getting letters. A custom digital print was enlarged into a 6’ tall x 106’ wide full-color mural, and custom “Old World” graphics were designed for the wine cellar with changeable title capabilities. Overhead aisle signage in the spirits area also incorporated changeable panels for maximum flexibility.
