Excitement, energy, culture. All are critical elements of the entertainment world. At Visual Communications we capture those features, taking into consideration the vibe of your building and the personality of your business in developing an identity and wayfinding signage system that creates a lasting impression. We take extreme care in providing sign design that demands attention and reinforces who you are, cohesively amplifying your identity across all platforms and populations.
Our Gallery shows off a broad variety of work we’ve done in this area, developing signage and wayfinding systems for diverse entities including museums, theaters, recreational areas and resort complexes. We’re extremely proud of the award-winning exterior and interior signage and wayfinding system we produced for the Science Center of Iowa, for example. Tying into the museum’s interactive theme, it uses a fun and creative approach: five exterior identification monuments and six interior directories that test science by balancing a cube atop a sphere. Lighting, shape and moving parts add to the impact, helping this project win a first-place award for sign design.
The Science Museum of Minnesota also tapped Visual Communications for help with its exterior and interior signage. Complicated by the fact that the museum is built into a bluff with entry points at four levels, the project required a strong master plan, which we provided along with sign design, specifications and implementation management. Components included identification, promotional banners, parking identification, directional signage, exterior planting exhibits, interior signage for three restaurants and an OmniTheatre, a multilevel donor recognition feature, classrooms, and more. Many signage elements were designed for fabrication and/or changeability by the Exhibit Department.
