Saint Paul College recently completed a $3,000,000.00 renovation of it’s lower level technical and trade shops areas. The expansive lower level has 160,000 square feet of educational space and common area hallways.
Visual Communications designed a comprehensive wayfinding system for new students and professional tradesmen that is user friendly and provides clear direction.
The system includes five full color digitally printed wall maps with color coded hallways and room numbering. A changeable digitally printed “Classroom and Shops” listing details room name and number listings. Headers echo the college signature curved aluminum bands in the school colors with natural aluminum “Directory Map” letters.
Overhead individual numerals help direct students in all orientations within the four major junctions. Seventeen double-faced classroom identification signs are ceiling hung and project for easy viewing. Materials are natural aluminum and charcoal to compliment the interior. Signs are curved for aesthetic interest and to model radius floor accents. International pictograms are utilized on blade signs for elevator, restroom, and stair signage.
