Allina Abbott Northwestern HospitalAbbott Northwestern Hospital is a part of the Allina Hospitals, Clinics and Care Services and is located in Minneapolis, MN. The ANH campus features a new eight-story heart hospital positioned among six adjacent and connecting buildings. A comprehensive hospital signage system was created by Visual Communications for a united wayfinding and identity system. This included design and specifications for exterior and interior signage as well as programming for the new Heart Hospital and connections to the existing facility. Visual Communications is currently providing ongoing services to complete the hospital signage restoration within the main hospital buildings. |

HealthEast Bethesda HospitalVisual Communications has provided hospital wayfinding and identification signage redesign for the Bethesda Hospital (formerly Bethesda Rehabilitation Hospital) for over five years. Phase one established new hospital signage for the exterior of the complex. Materials used were of natural aluminum, textured rain-glass and a faux patina paint finish. Phase two established guidelines for interior hospital signage including directories, directional signs and room identity and building standards. This was recently incorporated into an extensive remodel of the first level of the facility. In addition, hospital signage recognizing several levels of donor recognition have been designed and implemented including several specialty wings throughout the facility. |

Hennepin County Medical CenterHennepin County Medical Center is Minnesota's largest public owned health care facility. Its urban setting and multi-cultural clientele presents unique challenges not common to most projects. This new and contemporary sign and hospital wayfinding system brings a reorganized and revitalized image to the five buildings that comprise "HCMC". Visual Communications created directory maps, room signs, and wayfinding signs that are color coded and combine international symbols that communicate to a diverse cultural clientele. |

North Mermorial HospitalVisual Communications has provided hospital Signage Design and Masterplanning services for North Memorial Medical Center and North Memorial Clinics for over ten years. Most recently, Visual Communications completed the Emergency Identification and Directional Signage for the ER renovation along with illuminated logo lettering for the penthouse on the new Heart Center tower. At the same time, Visual Communications provided exterior monument and building identification for its Outpatient Center. Other recent projects include "Information" signage and Hospice identification. |

HealthEast St. Joseph's HospitalVisual Communications has provided hospital Signage for the graphic wall at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Saint Paul, MN is designed to showcase three aspects of the 150 year old facility and celebrate its new technology and services. The wall consists of three 5 foot high by 8 foot wide displays on colored walls. They incorporate stainless steel floating hardware and panels of different sizes with digital graphics identifying the hospital, their maternity services and their CyberKnife technology. The panels are mounted at different levels against the wall for a collage effect. |

HealthEast St. John'sVisual Communications has provided ongoing design and consulting services for both the exterior and interior hospital signage at Saint John's Hospital in Maplewood, MN for over a decade. In 1998, during a primary expansion project, Visual Communications created a hierarchy of sign components reflecting the hospital mission of a "caring environment" with the introduction of organic graphic elements and soft colors. A parking lot color code system was introduced to identity the different lot usages. During a five year period all sign elements were changed to reflect the new system. In 2006 new exterior letters and an addition of two new pylon signs were added, identifying the new entrances to the facility. |

Woodwinds Health CampusThe primary donor wall at Woodwinds Medical Center allows for expansion of donors at different levels with copper leaves designating the capital campaign and glass leaves depicting the ongoing giving program. Wall plaques with individual recognition were included in areas specifically funded by a donor. A new 15 panel wall tells the story of Woodwinds Medical Center from the vision and collaborative efforts at the project's onset; to the featured departments and future aspirations. Panels are 18x36 inches in size with elements of metal, wood, fabric, and digital images. Installed in late August 2007. |

Hormel Institute Donor Wall & Cancer Memorial WallAustin, Minnesota The Hormel Institute is a world-recognized leader in the scientific field showing that dietary factors prevent and control cancer development. It is in collaboration with the Mayo Clinic, University of Minnesota and Hormel Foods. The primary donor recognition wall is created from ASI’s Pacific Sign System and serves the function of multi-levels of giving plus easy additions. The Cancer Memorial wall is comprised of glass panels with a reverse digital image of the Omega 3 DNA. Name panels are sandwiched between the glass components for adding names in the future. Saint Joseph's Area Health Services Donor SignagePark Rapids, Minnesota This recognition ‘Tree of Life’ was created to recognize donors to the hospitals healing ministry. It was a part of a large addition and remodel of this regional facility. The branches are constructed of metal with a textured painted finish. Leaves are constructed of metal for upper levels of giving and acrylic for standard levels. Over 300 leaves exist with the opportunity to expand to over 500. Fabrication was provided by SignSource, Minneapolis. |

HealthEast St. Joseph’s Foundation’s Capital Campaign supported the needs of the hospital through donor contributions. The recognition wall was constructed of floating glass panels on the limestone curved wall. Donors were recognized with categorized metal panels with etched graphics. Saint Joseph's Hospital Interior SignageSaint Paul, Minnesota The HealthEast St. Joseph’s interior signage incorporates the design motif that is implied and realized in etchings and metalwork throughout the facility. The fleur de lis is entwined with the wings of a dove and the flowing river of life, symbolizing the first St. Joseph sisters, who came from France, boated up the river and established the first hospital in St. Paul in 1853.
